Yaqiang Wang

Company: Medical College of Wisconsin
Job title: Assistant Professor
Bio:
Dr. Yaqiang Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, specializing in RNA structural biology and RNA-targeted therapeutics. His research focuses on elucidating the structural mechanisms of RNA recognition using techniques such as NMR spectroscopy and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). Before joining MCW, Dr. Wang was a Principal Scientist at Arrakis Therapeutics, where he contributed to the discovery of small molecules that target structured RNAs. His current interests include oncogenic noncoding RNAs and the development of structure-guided therapeutic strategies.
Seminars:
Visualizing RNA Structure & Linking It to Function to More Reliably Discover Functional Binders 9:00 am
Understanding RNA structure is essential for decoding its functional roles in disease and for identifying high-affinity, selective small molecule binders. Yet, RNA’s inherent flexibility, context-dependent conformations, and limited structural data make this a formidable challenge. This workshop explores cutting-edge experimental and computational techniques—from NMR and Cryo-EM to in silicon modeling—that are advancing our ability to…Read more
